Rules ages 13-14-15
SENIOR DIVISION
(13-15 YEAR OLDS)
All play is
according to the ASA rules except as noted here. The highlighted portions
represent the changes for 2010.
GAME
-
All games
are seven innings regulation. If a game is tied after seven innings, extra
innings must be played- time permitting. If a game is tied when the time
limit is enforced, it is recorded as such.
-
No inning
shall start 1 hour and 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. The
umpire may give extended play for wet grounds or injury.
-
During tournament play, after 1 hour and 15 minutes has elapsed, the teams
shall finish the inning.
-
The game is
over if one team is ahead by ten runs or more at the end of any inning after
five innings are complete (or the home team is ahead by ten runs after
four-and-a-half innings).
-
Forfeit
time is ten minutes after scheduled start time.
-
It is the
intention to play all games with the regulation nine players. HOWEVER, the
game will be played and there will be no forfeit as long as a team can field
a minimum of seven players. Players arriving after the start of the game
MUST be inserted into the lineup if the team is playing with less than nine
players. Playing with less than nine players will NOT result in an out
in the missing person’s spot in the batting order.
-
The batting
order will consist of all players present at the game. A player showing up
after the game has begun will be inserted into the bottom of the order.
There will be free substitution for the defensive lineup, however it is
suggested that all players play at least two innings in the field.
-
Players
must wear their team uniform.
-
There shall
be no smoking, swearing or alcoholic consumption by managers, coaches,
parents, fans or players at any time during practices or games.
-
Equipment:
Catching gear (helmet, face mask with throat protector, chest protector, and
shin guards) is required. Helmets are required for the batter and all base
runners. Umpire may call base runner out for running without a helmet.
-
Players
cannot be added to a roster after the season has begun except by approval of
the full softball board.
-
For the
purpose of league standings teams will receive two points for a win, one
point for a tie, and zero points for a loss.
-
If a team has less than 9 players during tournament play, the team may pick
up a maximum of two players. The picked-up players may not pitch at any
time.
PITCHING
o
A
player may pitch a maximum of ten innings in league games within any one week.
The ten innings per week per pitcher limit will be reset to zero commencing with
the third game of the week (a week is defined as beginning on Monday and ending
on Sunday)
